1979-2000 Ronald McDonald House | 2001 Denver House | Meet Our Kids | Sky High Hope Camp

Pam Whitaker

Fully occupied, 100% occupied, happily filled, no rooms for rent, no vacancy ... signs of economic good times ... right? Not so for the Denver Ronald McDonald House. For too many months now the House has been filled beyond capacity. We are forced to turn away 5-10 families each night for lack of rooms.

As we look back to 1976 when our founders had a dream and the planning began for the third Ronald McDonald House in the United States, the House at 1000 E. 16th Ave seemed to be adequate to serve the families needs. Now as we are about to celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we are dreaming a new dream and looking to expansion. The board of directors, our volunteers and staff are planning a larger facility which will meet the changing medical needs of our families, increasing our capacity from 15 rooms to 30 rooms, designing a facility which will allow for total accessibility, and our sincere hope to never again turn a family away because we ... are fully occupied.

We have been blessed with 20 years of community support, volunteers who give from the heart, and a mission which has withstood the test of time. Thanks to each and everyone of you who have made the dream of 1976 a reality and join us in our vision for the future.
